Dropping my sub and jumping on the NordVPN bandwagon. In reality, Tunnelbear is not usable for anything streaming, webbrowsing - forget about gaming and in fact I can't think of a single thing you can practically use Tunnelbear for. I've tested it out and though you have to expect some slowdown due to passing through more links in the chain, this is ridiculous. Normal webpages load like it was back in the 28.8K modem days, but I'm on a 1 GB fibre connection. Tunnelbear has become so painfully slow that you can't even use it. Getting on a streaming service somewhere became a matter of trying again and again until you might get lucky and hit an IP which wasn't (yet) blocked. The TunnelBear app has a rating of 4.2 on Google out of 10 reviews, which is pretty good. Just like the full version, it offers 48+ countries to connect to.

However, there’s a 2 GB/month data cap, which is not a big amount nowadays. It worked fairly well for a few months after which many content providers got wise to VPNs and started blocking IPs. Not only will TunnelBear VPN encrypt your data, but with the GhostBear feature, it will make all encrypted data less detectable to ISPs, governments, and. TunnelBear’s free version is available on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

Initially I, like so many, wanted it to bypass geoblocking. I have had a paid subscription to Tunnelbear for several years now.
